From her office in Ottawa, Ontario, Astrid Pregel’s goal as executive director of WEConnect International in Canada is to help direct $1.3 trillion in purchasing power toward women-owned businesses. WEConnect International, which she co-founded in 2008, is a global nonprofit organization funded by 55 Fortune 500 firms seeking women-owned firms to add diversity and quality to their supply chains. The organization certifies and educates women-owned businesses around the world and connects them to international corporate global supply chains.
